Car insurance Deals: See them to believe them

Feb 12, 2012 Posted Under: Car Insurance Quotes

If you are a car owner (and this is a necessity), you know how much insurance rates have increased in the last few years. In fact, people have started to complain as the premiums of their car insurance have started to hurt them financially. Imagine the national car insurance average crossing $1500 per annum and it becomes easy to see why car owners (there are many households with several cars) are always on the lookout for car insurance deals. It is no secret that rates of car insurance are different in different states and people living in high insurance rates feel the heat much more than those living in low insurance bracket.

Despite shopping on the internet for most items, people have not yet started to shop for financial products in a big way. Read full article…

Do you need to have a company secretary, and what duties do they fulfill?

Feb 11, 2012 Posted Under: Insurance Tips

Unless the Articles of Association specify otherwise, a private company does not need to have a company secretary. However, the duties of a company secretary still need to be fulfilled regardless of whether someone is formally appointed. A public company, on the other hand, must have a formal company secretary appointed. The duties of a company secretary can either be performed by the directors, an internal company secretary or they can be outsourced to a specialist company secretarial provider.

Company secretarial services can vary depending on how the company is organised, but they often involve some or all of the following:

Typical company secretartial duties

Maintaining the company’s statutory registers: Every company is required to keep certain statutory registers and can be a criminal offence not to maintain these. T

How Is Your Procrastination Serving You? (You, Yes You)

Feb 5, 2012 Posted Under: Insurance Tips

When has procrastination served you well? If you reflect back, you may be able to dredge up a time or two when you put off an onerous task only to find your sloth (can I just call a spade a spade?) rewarded. You watched the game instead of shoveling the walk, and lo and behold it snowed again so you got a two-for-one shovel in afterwards. Nice, right? While that may work with insignificant things, when it comes to important areas of our lives, like protecting the financial future of our family, should we really tempt fate by putting off important decisions?

It’s a lesson many of us need to learn. Our friends Fran and Frida make a good case.

OK, jokes aside. G

Hit and Run Killed 13-year-old Boy

Jan 22, 2012 Posted Under: Insurance Tips

In a devastating car accident last October, 13-year-old Charlie Kho was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Olmsted Township, Ohio.  Charlie was walking home to his dads house with some friends around 7:00 pm.  The driver was later found to be an 80-year-old woman who fled the scene for an unknown reason.  Helen Fettes was charged two months after the homicide because a body shop manager recognized the car she brought in to fix as one police were looking for.

She pleaded not guilty this week to the counts against her; vehicular homicide, tampering with evidence, and failure to stop.  She could face more than ten years in prison if she is found guilty of the charges.  This information comes from Dan Jovics article Not Guilty Plea Entered by 80-Year-Old Charged in Hit-and-Run Death, on the Fox 8 Cleveland news website.  Fettes bond is $10,000, but the news site was not sure if that had already been posted to release her or if she was still being held in jail.

Vehicular homicide is devastating, and the fact that someone would drive away from the scene leaves many unanswered questions.  This kind of accident is one of the worst fears for car insurance companies and will likely make it extremely difficult to insure someone found guilty of such a crime.  That isnt a concern of course if the driver spends the rest of their life in prison.  Prayers go out to the young boy killed and the families of everyone involved.  Drive safely out there and watch for pedestrians and other vehicles to keep everyone safe.

Many Florida drivers are happy about this move but are skeptical that any of the changes will actually yield any positive results.
